Ups and Downs

Hey Guys!

So I went for a run the past two mornings. Wednesday was a pretty rough day, I couldn't get my butt out the door for whatever reason so instead of a 30 minute tempo run I did a 25 minute easy run. Then today was suppose to be a 30 minute easy run but instead I did a 30 minute progressive run. 

I was very happy with this run! I felt really good too. I'm still trying to figure out what triggers good and bad runs to hopefully level out my training a bit. 

This weekend I'm heading to Chicago to do the Great Urban Race with my step-sister. It should be a blast and will definitely put the fun back into run for me. 

After my next half I'm thinking I might drop back to 5ks and 10ks for a while. I can tell that my body is getting sick of long runs and I really want to work on my speed anyway. I feel like I've been sitting at the same pace for the past year and want to break out. I'd like to break  into the 25 minute range in a 5k this year (3 minute PR)


I also got a ton of compression socks in the mail today! If you entered my May Miles challenge you could be the lucky winner of one of them :)




I also had to mention my dinner because I literally made it in 10 minutes tonight since I didn't have much time between dinner and meeting my friend at the mall. I fried up some crab cakes and roasted some zucchini in the oven. It was super good and took less time than cooking a frozen pizza. A great go-to dinner for those nights you're pressed for time!

  1. Can't wait to see how your speed training goes!! My go-to dinner is salad with beans…no cooking required. Ha!
